More Ice

This was a little scary - we were on the runway getting ready to take off when the engine all of the sudden seemed to just slow down. Then the pilot said that they had stopped because they needed to de-ice the wings. Well, that was pretty scary because I had heard of bad things happening to planes when their wings froze up!! But everything was just fine and I even got a picture!

Snow and Ice!

I'm Back in Detroit for another week. While flying in, I fell asleep for awhile-then woke up to this site:

There was snow EVERYWHERE!!

This time we (the same 3 of us as before - Karen, Tatsuo and I) went to see the Plymouth Ice Festival the evening we flew in. It was really neat to see all the ice sculptures - but also REALLY cold. (I think it was like being in an icebox!) Here are some pictures I took:

A week in Detroit

Last week I was in Detroit for some training for work. I had never been there before so it was pretty interesting. There were 2 of us from El Paso going for the training, and at the last minute, we found out that another co-worker was going up there at the same time for a totally different reason (She is actually going to be moving up there for 2 years) and we were all on the same flight and staying at the same hotel. So we kind of decided to all just hang out together for the week. When we first got there, we were kind of disappointed because there was no snow on the ground. Then Monday night it snowed just for us, it seemed. It was very pretty but I thought it would be much colder than it actually felt. I think the dry cold here at home is much colder than the damp cold up there!! Anyway, here are a few pictures from that trip.

Jeremy in NYC

Jeremy was cleaning out his room today and found this picture which was taken on his band trip to New York his junior year. It is a little worse for the wear, but I scanned it anyway because I thought it was a cool picture. It is of him and his friend Carlos.

I actually participated in an online scrapbooking challenge for the first time. This was my entry for a Heritage Baby Picture Layout. This is my father's father as a baby. I just love this picture with the old stroller and baby gown!
